FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 9, 2005

Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has agreed to terms of a two-year contract with RB Dee Brown. As per club policy, no further terms of the agreements were announced.

Brown (5-10, 210) went to training camp with the Chiefs in 2005, but was released prior to the beginning of the regular season on September 3rd. Brown has played in 21 career games (three starts) over three seasons in the NFL, rushing 102 times for 360 yards (3.5 avg.) with four touchdowns and catching 17 passes for 86 yards (5.1 avg.) with one score. He has also returned 26 kickoffs for 496 yards (19.1 avg.). He originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick (175th overall) with Carolina in 2001. Brown has also seen game action with Pittsburgh (2003) and Cleveland (2004).

The Clearwater, Florida native ranked second all-time in Syracuse history with 28 rushing touchdowns and fifth with 2,626 rushing yards. Brown was voted the Central Florida Player of the Year as a junior and senior at Lake Brantley High School in Lake Brantley, Florida where he played quarterback.

Brown could emerge as a good #2 for them behind Johnson. I always liked him, just didn't see him as a fit here.
