Spanked that azz!! Kinda glad. Of course I would never root for Duke to lose but this is about the time where a solid loss can be beneficial and believe me this was a good one. They handed us our ass like we did to them in the first one. /i only hope we learn from this and move forward. Onward and upward!

Larry D, New to the ACC? I am hoping that in the context of your first line that you are speaking exclusively of this year only. I don't think for one minute if you talk class and ACC basketball that you would find many people that would say Maryland and Duke are the class of the ACC... Carolina sucks this year but this is the only year since before you were born that they will not go to the NCAA, win 20 games etc... nah, I think when people think of classs of the ACC they think Carolina/Duke.

Also, the heels own FSU now in football...

EDIT: For a True Blue Heel Fan, the next best thing to them winning is Duke Losing - Yesterday was a good day...

when those living in the past and upon reputation think of the class of the acc, they think unc-duke. however, the league's two best teams are clearly maryland and duke -- and have been for a few years.

the tar heels dynasty has crumbled. fear the turtle.

the acc final sunday between duke and maryland should be an absolute classic and i'm glad it will have a national audience. it may determine the no. 1 overall seed in the ncaa.

right now it's looking like:

midwest: kansas
south: maryland
east: duke
west: oklahoma/cincy

as far as football goes, fsu is going to hand unc it's tail again -- just like every other year. fsu is back to full strength in 2002.

I must confess, with the loss of our defensive cor. and about 7-8 defensive starters, a few of which will probably be 1st round picks in the NFL, I am a bit doubtful that the heels will repeat against FSU in 2002.

Yes - Yesterday was a great day to be a Tar Heel fan. Maryland toyed with them.

Blake's steal of Williams at half time was the play of the year in the ACC. That was too much fun to watch.

dook/Maryland the last few years has been fun to watch, and certainly the classic matchup - But as I recall...

that awesome Maryland team from last year - got swept BAD by those washed up Tar Heels. And until Williams proves he can do it again - with a another group of players then he and the Terps are just another two year wonder.

One bad year does not = crumbled dynasty. The Heels will ahve their work cut out for them next year with a young team but I will venture to say that the Heels will make the final four again before Maryland does ( this year not withstanding)

Interesting Stat - Yesterday was one of the largest margins of defeat by a number one dook team.

Only ONE other school has ever punked them worse when they were number one - Now I wonder who that could be? HMMMMM?

go ahead and keep everyone from last year's team. hell, even replay it right there in that high-school stadium.
