i have a gateway pentium d system. we had a series of power outages today and now it will not start up. It takes me to the screen where i can choose "Safe Mode" "Safe Mode with Networking"...no matter what I choose it will not start up. with normal and last known configuration it goes to the windows splash screen then restarts. if i chose safe mode it goes through a list of files and stops on "agpCPQ.sys" sits for a minute then restarts. I need to get on ASAP. thanks

Safe mode tries to load vga.sys, and that looks like the video driver. You might need to get ahold of an XP CD and run a repair.

This happened to my In-laws computer. They wound up reformatting... I had them try the Windows repair, but it did nothing.
