I like Colbert, but he should be playing the slot, not the Y receiver.

Gardner was the 2nd receiver on that long drive.

He has half as many catches and yards in three quarters as Colbert has in four games.

Gardner came on and caught a few outs with his hands, and tiptoed to stay inbounds. Nice. After that, he was a bit invisible. Also, I noticed him struggling with assignments, and calls at the LOS. It wasnt an audible, so that tells me Gardner doesnt know all the plays. Delhomme motioned, and Gardner never slid into the slot like he was supposed to. Saw Delhomme yell at him for it.

Also saw him on a route where he was directly behind another receiver in mid route again. I hope thats not designed.

Thomas Davis got time today at SS....played good, too. GOt time at backer, and spy as well. Overall, played smart football. I was encouraged.
