i just listened to Russo and King discussing potential coaching hires. Aside from Payton to LA, which is far from a given, and who may land in Denver, I wonder if someone like Coughlin goes to Buffalo? And is Kelly headed back to college?

You know, I once felt almost sorry for teams like the Browns who languished in the coaching carousel each season or two, but man, at 49ers are taking instability to a new level. Yes, Kelly stank. But they knew exactly who and what they were getting. Guess the old "Be careful what you wish for" adage is proven true yet again.

It sounds like the 49ers might land McDaniels, which seems like a great get until realizing he's been a failure everywhere outside of New England. Louis Riddick would apparently be his GM/bitch, so Jed York is just picking people he likes from ESPN at this point. Maybe Mike Golic will be the new team President.

Honestly I think Coughlin is just a pawn in the game this year. It's really sad. He needs to just find a new hobby and spend time with his grandkids.

Honestly it's not fair to fire a coach after one year, but that's such a dysfunctional situation in Santa Clara, so they probably did the right thing. Baalke is the fucking antichrist.
