I am tremendously frustrated by the continual negative publicity the Observer seems to go OUT OF THEIR WAY to publish. Case in point, today's Sports section- the front cover is of the laker-king fight from Friday. Okay, i know its a big story and a lot of people are talking about it, and it depicts the Laker-King rivalry- so I can live with that. However, just to the left of the picture is a paragraph w/ a bold heading about NBA Legal Troubles- what the hell?? This is downright smelly. The Observer has a righ to publish what they want to publish- but how is NBA legal troubles a viable discussion in accordance with tonights openers?? I didnt see an NFL legal troubles, MLB legal troubles, NHL legal troubles, or COLLEGE FOOTBALL legal troubles (even though there are just as many violations "troubles" in those sports). I feel that the NBA is being singled out- and this is causing the Packman mantra of "garbage product" and "they're all just thugs." That is irresponible and targeted editorializing of a league. Just my opinion.

I dont want to be totally negative- i did appreciate the nba preview section, and the articles by bonnell and sorenson were solid.

I'm tired of it too. I think they played a big part in the Hornets debacle. They always harped on the negative and now they seem anti-NBA and we don't have a team yet. I wish the would write articles that would get people excited about the possibility of a new team. I'm excited and I know alot of others are too. The observer sucks.

observer anti-nba?

you make me laugh.

you know how much better off financially the observer is with pro sports in town? seriously?

you dont think tuesday's print edition was trying to send a message- half page picture was laker-king fight, and to the left was a bold heading about nba legal troubles. i dont see how 4 nba players' legal troubles is news- when nba players are probably the most active in charity work.

The media are board in Charlotte....find something to report that has an effect on the community. That's part of the reason the Hornets are gone. Your gonna have bad apples, simple as that....get over it. I could care less of most of the minor troubles that are reported the media.....THere are bigger things we need to be worring about in the world......
