I have had Sprint for about 5 years. I am moving to Charlotte soon so since I have to change numbers anyway I figure I might as well shop around for best coverage/service/plans. Any suggestions.

Verizon works great for me. HAve the Carolinas plan and it's local for all of North and South Carolina 2 phones for 50 dollars like 600 minutes 7am-7pm and 3500 nights and weekends. Also 500 mobile to mobile

I had Cingular---the plan was okay and the actual service was great but the billing system was screwed up.

I've been with Sprint for a few years and it could be better. My biggest gripes with them are coverage holes/gaps and their voicemail.
Anytime I drive down 85, through Rowan County, I go from having the strongest signal possible to a completely dropped call instantly. Just seems to be a lot of gaps with Sprint but overall, it's getting better.
Their voicemail sucks and I've heard a numerous other people complain about it. I miss a ton of messages because I'm not notified of them until well after they were received. My phone will just alert me all of a sudden of a voicemail message and when I go to check it, I find out I had like 12 new messages. Some of them came in a couple weeks before I was even notified. You have to constantly call Sprint and let them reprogram your phone. And contrary to what they tell you, simply hitting the "*" before exiting your voicemail does NOT keep this problem from happening.
I'm thinking about switching to Verizon.

Verizon is ranked #1 Nationwide in customer statisfaction and coverage.. I have Sprint... and while its not AWFUL... Its annoying enough I'm looking at Verizon myself

I travel for work between Charlotte and Clemson University area. My parnets live in the Research Triangle area and wifes family is in Wilmington area. No dropped signals in route to any of these areas with Verizon. Just don't get a Nokia phone. They suck IMO
