Frantisek Kaberle beat Thrashers goalie Michael Garnett with a hard slap shot 32 seconds into overtime tonight completing yet another Hurricanes comeback from a 2 goal deficit. After spotting the Thrashers two early goals, the Canes score three unanswered goals. Justin Williams continued his hot hand with a power play goal midway through the first period and Eric Staal scored twice in the second period once on a power play goal and also on a short handed breakaway. Staal swatted his first goal into the net from a rebound and put the puck between the legs of Garnett for his second gaol. Staal now has 18 goals and 18 assists for the season. Williams assisted on the Kaberle winner returning the favor for Frank's assist on William's goal.
Canes are now 4 points up on Tampa Bay while having played two less games. The Hurricanes don't skate again until Friday in Dallas when they begin a 5 game Western Conference Pacific Division road trip.
