Isn't this a contract year for Peppers? If it is I'm sure he'll turn it on himself.

Actually Moose had a year left on his deal but everyone knew he would have to be cut or restructured because that last year had a huge cap number built in that was never intended to be paid.

That is where Peppers was this past season and he laid a big fat egg.

No Peppers is in the same spot Moose was with us NOW. Prior to his last season with us, Moose extended one year to split his cap hit (since we couldn't agree to a long term deal). That one year extention included a big roster bonus that made it impossible to keep him under that deal. If we didn't get a deal hammered out, he was going to be a FA just as he was scheduled without the extention. We then had to eat a hit while he played in Chicago.

    ya'll are missing my point

I hated to see moose go, also Proehl....Julius just goes through the motions,no passion for the game. Kevin Greene brought it on every play.If Peppers had the mentality of Jr.Seau he would have 18 sacks every year.:civilwar:

the first Pro Bowl was a contract year, but the idea that a new head coach, better QB play, better offensive play overall, more creative playcalling, a playmaking WR across from him, those always get lost. That, and that he led the league in receptions the year after getting said contract.
