and where can i get some?! it must be some pretty stout shyte if it's got him thinking virginia, nc state, AND maryland will all be in the top TEN next year!!! plus, i guess he's predicting them to all finish ahead of florida state and all to BEAT florida state next year????? my oh my he's on some serious ganja.

first of all, lets look at nc state. will they be good? hell yeah, they should be improved from this season and they weren't exactly slouches this year...but look at who they play next year. they open the season w/everybody's preseason #1 ohio state AT ohio state in the horseshoe. not exactly where you wanna play your first game. they'll lose that one. then they have to go AT florida state and i'm sorry but 2 years in a row is enough plus it's in tallahassee. everyone seems like they're ready to count fsu out but damn they went 7-1 in conference this year they're still florida state! ncsu will lose that one. then they'll lose one to either maryland or virginia. that's 3 losses right there.

then look at virginia...they start the season AT south carolina. virginia beat us this season but it could have gone either way and this year will be a revenge game at williams-brice. this game i feel could go either way. then they have to play fsu of course and virginia tech!!! not to mention the new acc powers maryland and nc state...then the regular slate of acc teams. plus, they played penn state this year, do they have to play them again next season? psu kicked their ass this season and they might do so again next year if they play one another again.

now maryland, they played notre dame this year now do they have to face them again next year i don't know. they have fsu of course and ncsu and virginia. plus they have to go @wake forest and @ georgia tech. i also feel like maryland is the weaker of the 'new' acc powers ncsu and virginia. i think they'll lose both of those plus the fsu game.

yes all 3 of these teams would be solid but there's no way in hell 3 teams from a 9 team conference are going to be in the top 10 UNLESS media darling florida state is one of those 3. fsu could probably end up in the top 10 w/3 losses but i doubt any of the other 3 could.

i've changed my prediction from last time because i don't think fsu will finish lower than 2nd in the league. i see it like this:

4-mary
5-wf
6-clem
7-unc
8-gtech
9-duke

On UVA? Yes....er... maybe. They might actually have to learn to play real defense instead of outscoring people if they want to be REALLY good.

They need a decision on QB. Looks like it's going to be Pix. I might covert Bouldin over. Big guy with a big arm, seemed to have some pocket presense.

Well it does say that they will all at one point be ranked in the top ten but that they would not finish in the top 10. I would say its possible, but I sure as hell wouldnt bet on it.

those of you that think fsu's defense is so bad, does that mean you think they'll actually finish 2003 any lower than 2nd in the conference?????

i would be more suprised by that than if they won the conference.

Depends on the other teams. NC State seems to have their number, but Maryland has chocked twice when they probably had the better team. UVA has it's own defesive problems to resolve.

I can see FSU third maybe. At least, that's where I'd rate them this year.

ya piper but a lot of people seem to overlook the fact that they won the acc championship this year despite all the problems. i don't think they'll win it next year, but i have a hard time seeing them any lower than 2nd. 3rd?....maaaaaybe but that's pushing it a little bit. fsu losing 2 conference games in one year doesn't happen that often but it's not unprecidented.
