Really looking forward to seeing this kid tomorrow night. I think he's everything we thought we were getting in Shelton. Big Strong move the pile type. He's somewhere between 6'5" and 6'7" and around 270lbs. That's a load of a man to bring down. He literally ran over the Browns last week.

Now we get to see if the Browns D was bad or if this rookie (4th round pick by the way) is the real deal.

Yeah, and he has a blue ox named Babe who he rides around while lassoing tornadoes. :supergrin Jacobs is actually 6'3" and 250 pounds, about the same as Shelton. Jacobs does have more raw power, but I don't think he'd be much of a feature back due to poor speed and a lack of wiggle. I'm not sure about his vision either. He'll be a great complement to Barber in New York, at least if they ever get near the end zone, but Shelton is the better overall running back.

Dude, did you see this guy against the Brownies? He had a great night and looked much better than Shelton did against the Skins.

I hope you are right that Shelton is a better back than Jacobs, but based on what I've seen so far, give me Jacobs all day.

If you think about it, Foster and Barber are similar in their styles, he'd be a great complement here.

Yeah, he probably would, but remember that Foster is going to be gone after this season. Would Jacobs be capable of filling a role as feature back? Maybe, but I didn't think so, and I wouldn't change my mind based on one pre-season game against the Browns, just as I wouldn't decide that Shelton stinks based on one pre-season game against the Redskins. Most people don't realize that Washington had the best run defense in the NFL last year BY FAR. They gave up an average of 3.1 yards per carry, while Pittsburgh was next best at a much higher 3.6 yards per carry. Meanwhile Cleveland gave up more rushing yards than any other team in the NFL last season, and was also the team that helped Jamal Lewis set the NFL single-game rushing record in '03.
