Willie Nelson - Devil in a Sleeping Bag

Willie Nelson - Devil in a Sleeping Bag (1973)

From the classic Shotgun Willie album

"Devil In A Sleepin' Bag"

We were headed home in Austin
Caught pneumonia on the road
Taking it home to Connie and the kids
A wheel ran off and jumped a railroad
Then ran through a grocery store

If you want to buy a bus I'm taking bids
And the devil shivered in his sleeping bag
He said traveling on the road is such a drag
If we can make it home by Friday we can brag
And the devil shivered in his sleeping bag

[guitar]

Well I just got back from New York City
Kris and Rita done it all
Raw perfection there for all the world to see
Lord I heard an angel singing
In the Philharmonic Hall
Rita Coolidge Rita Coolidge cleft for me
And the devil shivered...
And the devil shivered in his sleeping bag

Patsy Cline - Crazy

Patsy Cline - Crazy (1961)

"Crazy"
(originally by Willie Nelson)

Crazy
I'm crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy
Crazy for feeling so blue

I knew
You'd love me as long as you wanted
And then some day
You'd leave me for somebody new

Worry
Why do I let myself worry?
Wondering
What in the world did I do?

Oh, crazy
For thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you

Crazy
For thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying
And crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you

I think it is important that I post this again. It really changes the experience.

AdBlock is the most important one. In addition, I generally default to 1.20X speed playback.

Both of these are Google-certified apps, for whatever that is worth. I've used them for years and I am not seeing any malware or unexplained traffic on my local network.

Johnny Lee - Lookin' For Love

Johnny Lee - Lookin' For Love (1980)

I met John Travolta when he was filming Urban Cowboy and we rode our 3-wheelers up to Gilley's Bar in Pasadena, Tx. I was about 8 or 9. I shook his hand. We used to go up to Gilley's regularly to play the video games they had lined up against the wall. They kicked us out around 5pm. I lived on Rosemead Ave nearby. It was the first house my parents ever owned and the first house I ever lived in. I learned to ride a bike at that house I got into my first fist fight. I attended my first evangelical church at the end of the street called Thomas Ave Baptist Church. All of those locations still exist, except for Gilley's the bar. You can probably Google Maps them.

But Gilley's is a whole other story of Texas lore itself. No need to go deep on that here.

"Lookin' For Love"

I spent a lifetime looking for you
Single bars and good time lovers were never true
Playing a fools game, hopin' to win
Tellin' those sweet lies and losin' again

I was lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Hoping to find a friend and lover
I'll bless the day I discover
Another heart lookin' for love

I was alone then, no love in sight
I did everything I could to get me through the night
I don't know where it started or where it might end
I turned to a stranger just like a friend

I was lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover
Another heart lookin' for love

You came knockin' on my heart's door
You're everything I've been looking for

No more lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Now that I found a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover
You, oh you, lookin' for love

Lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Now that I found a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover
You, oh you, lookin' for love
