From Today's CLT Observer:
Former Charlotte 49ers guard Eddie Basden is making a West Coast swing during the next two weeks to work out for several NBA teams.
Basden, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound swingman who developed from a defensive specialist into an all-around player and the Conference USA Player of the Year this past season, has been projected as a possible second-round pick.
He averaged 15.2 points and 8.4 rebounds last season.
He has hired sports agent Aaron Goodwin, who also represents Cavaliers star LeBron James.
Basden said he had been working with a personal trainer in Atlanta and had workouts scheduled with Utah, Portland, Phoenix, New Jersey, Denver, Sacramento, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
He said he was also focusing on finishing class work and will graduate.
Asked if he was optimistic about his draft chances, Basden said: "Whatever God has planned. I'm not the one saying I'm going in the first round. As a player, we always have confidence, but I'm going to let my play do the talking."
