Barron may not be the OL man we're looking at

But he could be off the board already when the Rams go on the clock, according to ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli. Although he has principally been a right tackle, many teams now believe Brown can play the primary pass protection side and have upgraded him considerably. Plus, scouts love his work ethic, more so than that of Florida State left tackle Alex Barron.
The Texans are blowing a lot of smoke about Barron at No. 13. No way are they taking him. They prefer wideout Troy Williamson or linebacker Demarcus Ware. If both are gone, they will strongly consider Brown. Carolina also likes Brown a lot and could jump him quickly if he's still on the board. The Eagles, armed with 13 choices, are plotting a move up in the first round and some speculation is that Brown is their target.

I think it drops after about the top 5 players - then we have about 40 low first round prospects.

Uhm ... no. There are a good number of middle first prospects, but few late first or early second guys. You can really get a feel for that by doing a mock. No one is worth those late spots.

Honestly? I'm fine with Brown at 14. A trade down would be nice, yes. But we don't need more picks, so unless we do it so we can have more firepower to move up in the 2nd or 3rd, those extra picks won't mean anything.

Why take Brown at #14 when he very well could be there at #45? There are only three OT's worthy of first round consideration, all OT's. Barron, Brown and Barnes should all be top 25. Bass and Brown are looking at low to mid 40's in my book.
