Some pretty good games. 3 games going down to the wire.

Cleveland got robbed, IMO. On the last play of the game, I thought Winslow was forced out, and thus should have been ruled a touchdown. I think the ref reviewing it knew it, but you can't overturn whether or not he got forced out.

Eli vs Grossman. Cripple fight. Manning was pretty terrible most of the game, but came through somehow in the end.

Since returning to the NFL, Joe Gibbs has been terrible with game management. I think Washington needs a fresh start. They haven't been bad this year, but they've lost a number of close games because of careless coaching decisions.

That was awful, but what's even worse is that we just helped the Patriots get a better draft pick. I hate the thought of those bastards having a top 5 selection.

Speaking of around the league,,, local boy from Kannapolis, NC Aundrae Allison scored his 1st NFL TD today for the Minnesota Vikings with a 103 yard KO return. Also had 2 receptions for total of 52 yards.

Sure woulda liked to have seen the Panthers get him in last year's draft, but obviously they knew what they were doing.

saw that. good for him.

Regarding an earlier discussion we had about Bob Sanders' impact on the Colts, Sports Weekly's lead article was about how different their defense is with him in the lineup, but the stats they included didn't show a lot of discrepancy. In his first three seasons he played in 24 games and missed 24 games. When he played, the Colts averaged 329 yards allowed per game. When he didn't, they averaged 344. That's still a difference, but not nearly as large as I expected.

I'd like to see the points per game difference and the number of +20 yards.

Colts will give up some yards with their scheme, they hope to force some turnovers and prevent the big plays. They gave up a lot of points and big plays when he was out, not so much since.

Of course, this year skews that. They are second in yards and third in points coming into this week.

If it holds up, could be evidence that they may have paid the wrong player. Sanders may be the leader and MVP of that defense, not Freeney.

He sure made a huge difference last year and I'm sure that somewhere, there's a stat waiting to be quoted that would back that up. Starts with W.
