If we sign Armstead, is that enough fill at the LB? re-sign Towns/Allen?

I'd say re-sign Allen, and still look for a future OLB in the draft to groom as Fields' replacement.

We could bring back Allen. Somewhat steady and terribly unspectacular RFA.
Adding Armstead - suggestion of a two year deal - would mean that the rook pick would, in fact, be a MLB. Only place I can add youth.

I think we could still go with youth outside, it would just require counting on Spoon to be Morgan's backup.

I think if we sign Armstead, we'll be able to focus on the other spots in the draft. Maybe get a LB next year. I wouldn't whine if we picked one. I just would drop it down the priority list this year. Allen or an equivilant should also be signed.

Or Allen backing both spots, and the 6th guy being one year developmental.

Honestly I can come or go on Allen. Not a huge issue to lose him, IMO, if he's gonna cost $650k for the RFA tender. RFAs get a lot of money lately.

I just don't see him taking over for Fields. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it and I don't know of anybody who has ever really felt he was.

I think I'd take Allen over Towns and Favors too. Allen over Favors for sure but probably Towns too if it came to that.
