I`m using version 7 and the only way I can read/open a pdf file is to save it first. If I try to open without saving, all I get is a blank page with a muti colored block in the upper left corner. Whats up?

You mean you're trying to open an attachment or from a website? That could mean that file doesn't work with that version of AR, or your associations are screwed up.

If you upgraded an old version, I'd uninstall all versions, reboot, and reinstall.

uninstall ALL versions on Acrobat and reinstall 7 regardless if that's the problem or not...

Adobe wrote in uninstall code for the Adobe Standard and Professional, but not the Readers. It's a pain.
