My sister-in-law's birthday is in a week. She loves old 70's sappy love music and I was gonna go on Audiogalaxy, get some songs and make her a CD. I can only think of one group that sang old 70's love songs and that was 'Peaches n Herb.' Anyone else have any suggestions of groups to check out?

Olivia Newton John

Paul Anka

Neal Sedaka

Captain & Tenille

America

The Carpenters

Seals & Croft

On audiogalaxy they usually have a category called '70's'. Do a search on that and see what it comes up with. It's usually a greatest hits album someone is sharing.

Thanks guys, I'll check those out. Paul Anka. Wow- that's old. Considering I wasn't born till the late 70's, I don't remember any of that music.

I always liked the idea of makiung a mix CD as part of a gift.

I can't think of any ballads from the 70s offhand. maybe check out late at night where they sell those compilation CDs and get some ideas there.

hmm...Carly Simon. Maybe Carole King. Think she might like Rufus/Chaka Khan's Sweet Thing?

'Beth' - Kiss
'Love Hurts' - Nazareth

I'm sure these are ballads in someone's mind.

bread, fred, check out the bread...

i like their love songs...

also the eagles and linda rondstadt, bonnie raitt, whitesnake, cinderella? oh wait, i think whitesnake andy cinderella are from the 80's.

diary by bread...

i think that is the title..

"i found a diary underneath a tree
and started reading about me...
the words she'd written took me by surprise,
you never see it in her eyes...

she said that she has found
the love she's waiting for...
wouldnt you know it,
she wouldnt show it..." or something like that...

this song rocks, fred.
:mushy:

'Then she confronted with her writing there
Simply pretended not to care'

'And as I go through my life, I will wish for her his wife
All the sweet things they can find...'

I can play that song on the guitar.:)
