Last I checked, John Fox is two games clear of Sean Payton, with the tiebreaker.
Oh, and, Green Bay could have fielded a punt there, and still lose by 20.
Yea, it's neat, but there's a ton of things Payton does that holds them back, one of which is his inability to make a place kicker a priority.

that was my first thought. second was that, in this division, the saints have to win out to make the playoffs. their backs are against the wall.

4th and half yard. They just powered the ball off the right side. We have the 2 best tandom rb's in the league and wouldnt have tried that.

And we shouldn't. Our situation is quite different than the Saints, as pointed out. In most situations, that would be a ballsy but dumb call, but maybe not for the Saints. The game was do or die for them.
