2024 Training Camp Running Commentary

Tepper has completely zeroed out the enthusiasm, hasn't he? I can't even find it on the team influenced sectors of the internet.

Dismal.

Welp, anyway, best of luck to the new guy.

I've been nerding on Dolphins offense all off-season, watching all of their games on all 22. Robert Hunt was amazing in 2023. That dude had a lot to do with their record breaking running game. Hopefully that carries over into a brand new offense.

I worry more about the defense than the offense this year, which is saying something considering how bad we were. I think that Young is going to really look good running Canales' offense.

Have not seen you in months, thought you had pulled a "coach". Bout time you showed back up:)

I’ve been here, but there hasn’t been a lot of football to discuss and Tharan is still boring

Four conclusions I reached after off-season rewatching:

1) I feel much better about Young. Last years system was so amateurish, and supporting cast was so awful, that we should all be thrilled that he simply survived it and threw more touchdowns than interceptions.

2) I feel much worse about Icky. Dude needs to whipped back into shape, and fast.

3) Despite some decent looking stats, Thielen was a massive drag on the offense. He can't run anymore.

4) Evero is being hung out to dry. He's unlocked Brown by taking him off double teams, but with no edge rushers (I'm not sold on Clowney being a late bloomer) and absolutely no depth at CB, it's going to be hard to stop offenses.

Young was never the problem, he was just a symptom. He's going to quickly become the master of adjustments and the offense is going to look good. That extends to Icky as well, as he's going to be playing next to a legit stud and will also be called on to run block more.

Thielen is going to get a lot of his stats early this year, because you're exactly right about him. He's going to lose targets as XL and Sanders get more comfortable, and DJ will be our WR1 by a mile. I also think Mingo is going to be taking a lot of AT's reps by season's end.

Our defense won't be able to bring too much pressure, but they should be respectable at least. What's going to kill us is an inability to get a stop on third and short when we absolutely need it.
