    Yes.

But this was worse. Fathers and mothers were pulling their children close, covering their ears. They would look at me until I looked at them, and they'd turn away. Cops had their hands ready at their holsters. I was honestly, far more ridiculous than any of you have seen me here. It was bad.

Watching Matt Ryan and the Boston College Eagles march up and down the field on Bunting's tar heels in 2004. Bad seats, cold rainy weather, injuries, just not a good day overall...my only two Panthers games were a lot of fun. Last year, got to sit second row in front of the cheer leaders when Dallas came to town...man there are still a lot of residual Cowboys fans around here...one guy in my section was dressed up in a complete Dallas Cowboy uniform, helmet, thigh pads, the whole thing.

The Panthers don't have a strong fan base even in their hometown. Scary thought for the future.

Seems like the 2001 season the Panthers lost games by the most obscure ways. Can't remember who it was against but had a game winning touchdown called back on a rule that I hadn't heard of and haven't seen since

Something involving fumbling into the end zone wasn't it, and they changed the rule a short time later?

Jamal Anderson was going running for a TD down the left sideline when Eugene Robinson punched the ball out and Doug Evans recovered it on about the 2 yard line. His momentum then carried him into the end zone and then out of bounds. the rule at the time was a safety. So instead of us getting the ball back, the falcons get two points and the ball. Game over. Drive home safely.

That wasn't 2001 though. That was 2000. I remember it well. We were only down three points at the time with about two minutes on the clock.

And yes, the rule was changed the following season.

That's it. Something so obscure screwed us. Seemed like that happened every week
