    No. I simply pointed out that we have a budget which we can't go over. Never said we should spend it - at least not in this thread.

    The problem is that we're willing to pay the $25 whore $50-$75 to come here and we're only willing to pay the $150 whore $100 to stay. It's cost/benefit.

    So you are saying that we paid Meadows (as an example only) 2 to 3 times what he is worth?

    I would say that we chose to get a redhead (OL) and you think we should have spent it on the blonde (CB). Or maybe you think we should have gone for the chick who specializes in oral and the FO got the one who digs anal.

    I do feel like we overpaid for a right tackle, overall. His deal's cap friendly for a couple years. Guess what? So's Vincent's.
    What'd Indy pay for their RT last year? You know, the one who started.
    What'd the Pats pay for the guy who kept Peppers from sniffing Brady?

    It's just idealogical. With this system you don't need exceptional linemen. Most of us feel like we need better than we had at corner, and now we have worse, everywhere but one position that remained constant. The adage that rush is our pass defense brings my mind back to that 8-in-a-row drubbing where we'd be close in most of those games because of strategy, teams would hold back blockers and pick on our DBs.

    Definitely agree with you on Howard and James, and I think a strong argument can be made for Grant.

    I hate to keep harping on this point, but I think that while James was a nice surprise, Brezinski only lost his job at RG because he showed up at camp overweight, he's very good, which is why losing James doesn't phase me, but yes Grant was good enough for the FO to keep around.

    What you have to look at is Stuessie at RT verses Meadows. Meadows is cheaper. Is he equal to Stuessie, maybe. Gross was moving to LT this year so we saved money from the OL by switching Meadows in for Stuessie at RT.

    We did not bring Jeno back so we did not really overspend on the OL.
