I wouldnt say that because they pretty much have the same stuff. It really depends on your musical tastes. There are a few channels that are different. I have XM and the punk station beats the sirius one. sirius has outlaw country that beats the XM one.

XM has ESPN, Fox Sports, and Sporting News radio that sirius doesnt. I wish I had NFL to listen to during the week, but I dont need it to listen to the games.

i don't want for anything listening to xm.

the old-school rap station brings back memories.

    the uncensored comedy is fantastic.

the punk/alternative stations (plural) are diverse.

plus, i listen to MLB games from the west coast when i go to sleep.

i actually started listening to dale earnhart jr.'s show a couple of times. i like that they talk freely.

XM has 170 channels -- 69 of them are commercial-free (the music ones...just like sirius).

XM is the more established system. larger, more subscribers, didn't overpay for contracts (ie: nfl, stern) and has a good many of its music stations on directv.

there's a lot of stations that are the same on both.

there's also a rumor that the two will merge at some point soon, but the sticking point is how the fcc classifies satellie radio. they'd need to change the classification from separate category to part of the larger class of mobile music.

Pantera was on three stations at the same time on Sirius. Nuff said.

I listened to NFL Radio like crazy when i first got it. Wore it out. And if I'm driving home from my parents on Sunday I can listen to the Panters and every other game at the same time.

Howard Stern is better than ever. Two full 24 hour stations of the show, repeats, old footage, Bubba the Love Sponge, it's fabulous.

The punk station kind of blows and the metal station really plays metal and alot I don't like. I've discovered a lot of new music and old stuff like Van Morrison and Thin Lizzy that I never would have listened too.

Jim Breur Unleashed had heavy metal karoke with DLR band. One of the greatest things on radio ever.

Before Sirius I listened to cd's and never once listened to the radio so that arguement blows, there is no good radio, that's why I pay.

I believe the NFL package will be available on cable next year.. hopefully by then the Browns will be winning a few games.. even when they're on tv locally (3 times this year including sunday) it's nice to have the feed from cleveland.. the same announcers i listened to when i lived there.. and there's always beer runs etc and you can listen in the car. or if you're traveling you can get the games while on the road.. and the cavs i listen to at work. so it works out .. plus there's always howard stern..

I've discovered a lot of great music since getting XM a couple years ago. Not necessarily new stuff, but stuff from the 70's-90's that I missed because I was too busy listening to all the "home of rock n' roll" stations or being obsessed over one or two artisits or CD's. Also, Bob Dylan's show is the best radio show I've ever heard.

I took part in a marketing study a few months ago, and was kind of surprised to find that I spend over 30 hours a week listening to sat radio, either live or recorded. I spend less than 10 hours a week watching television.

I have an Inno and a Skyfi, and I think I'll get a Skyfi 3 when they come out (to replace the skyfi).

Sirius is good too, but my experience with them is limited to the times I've had the service in a rental car. They have NPR, which I wish XM had.

I don't really care about Howard Stern or Oprah.

to me it's not so much xm vs. sirius as it is free radio vs. pay radio... it's worth the money to me to be able to hear uncensored radio without commercials. however, it seems xm has made some very bad business decisions . sirius has stern, nfl, nba, & nascar??? xm is fucked

Local radio carries Nascar (is there anything more boring than listening to Nascar? maybe golf) NBA? Who cares? NFL would be a huge consideration if I didn't already live in the market where free radio carries it. Stern? Like Larry stated they way over paid for him and his contract will probably cripple them. All depends on what you want. Music is a wash
