maybe if we had better run blocking i would feel better about our backs. After seeing Jacobs, and Marion Barber, and at least one dazzling highlight a week from that freakin Norwood kid (avg over 4 yds a carry vs steelers BEFORE breaking off a 36 yarder) i feel like we should have better :muetze:

Norwood has been impressive but doesn't fit our system at all. Jacobs, on the other hand, would have been a really nice addition. The Giants got a steal there, although he still has to work out some fumbling issues.

I forgot about Williams since he's been out so much. Maybe they don't think they can rely on him to finish the game. If they really think he can, then yes, I agree, McAdams needs to be inactive. I'm totally unimpressed by him too.

My guess is they realize the problem, since they keep adding STs players to the roster. Hopefully, they're trying to replace him.

I just re-watched this game tape, and I've changed my mind about some things.

    1. Collin was right -- our LB play was instrumental in this loss. Low scoring aside, they were rarely in the right place at the right time. Draft was the only one even close, and he got caught out of position a lot. Diggs was too slow to get where he needed to be, and Anderson was almost completely brain dead. He made less than six decent plays the whole game, and the rest of the time he was a complete non-factor at best. It was nauseating to watch.

    2. Gamble's blown coverage on 4th and 1 was not out of fatigue or wind or anything else reasonable. He played scared when it counted. If he kept his eye on the ball, he would've been fine -- no call -- and that would've been the worst thing that could've happened.

    3. T. J. Houshmanzadeh abused all three of our corners. Lucas looked slow, Gamble looked tentative, and Marshall looked a little lost. That being said, all three had chances to make big plays and didn't get it done.

    4. I'm starting to wonder if our vulnerability against dives and belly runs is due to poor scheme more than anything else. One play in particular I saw had Jenkins playing a 5 technique and Lewis at a 3 (and almost a 4). Big, wide gap right up the middle. The OLBs went wide, Draft got blown up, and the safeties were in coverage. That's weak as crap in the middle, and Cinci exposed it more than once during that game. Looked like the parting of the Red Sea.

    5. Jake blew the 4th quarter INT, but it wasn't all his fault. It was a bad collection of routes. He had 3 wides (IIRC), and two were at least 4 yards outside of the end zone. Key was the only one in the end zone, and Jake forced it. Shoulda thrown it away, sure. But he didn't have much to choose from in the first place. I have to give him that much.
