He's been a good DT, but I expected him to be great.

Okoye hasn't stood out much, Dorsey actually started coming on when he realized he had to work for Haley instead of show up for Herm.

I'd say Suh, Ngata and Raji are the only ones that are elite out of that group. The others are good, strong working class DTs, and that's great and all, but I would not want to come out of this with a McCoy, Dorsey, Ellis, Okoye (who looks like shit half the time, btw) or Bunkley with the #1 overall. But point taken. None are busts...I guess what it comes down to for me, is the #1 overall. Is Dareus worth the #1 overall? Maybe he is. I readily admit, I'm not fighting and saying anything bad about him, or doubting he can be a good NFL player.

I'm worried about this too, and that's why I'm not completely on the Newton wagon. I like him. A lot. He looks off the charts, but I get sick of watching him fucking RUN. THat shit plays only so far in the NFL. I think though...that he DOES have the skill set to play in the league. I might be wrong. I'm the same asshole that thought Clausen was going to be really good, too.

This is why, deep down inside, Im jonesing for Green. We can shop Smitty, or at the very least, have Green and Smitty on the same field, with the other three guys fighting for spots. Neither the other two have done so well that they're guaranteed shit. Gettis was spotty at best, and LaFell did show a lot of promise toward the end, but he's got some work to still put in.

If we're going to the air, and we're going to rely on "x" at quarterback, like a Volek or someone, then I would love to open up the offense. Green helps our running game, and to me, has a much greater overall impact than a DT would have.

I actually do recall you defending Peppers. If the debate was to move down to get Henderson, then ok.

If we could move down to pick up Dareus in this case, that's different. We're talking about taking him at #1 though, and I'm not sold.

Even in the best case scenario? Hrm. Well...I don't know. We differ, but you have a pretty good track record on quarterbacks, and I'm keeping that in mind...

The only guy in this class that I'm crazy about is Julio Jones, and then I probably like Prince Amukamara 2nd, and Dareus 3rd. Dareus probably isn't a future elite DT, but there is extremely little chance of him not being a very good DT and deserving a couple of Pro Bowls. He's certainly not your typical #1, but again, no one in this draft is on that level. Newton does not have elite potential, and I personally don't think that Green does either. It's just a really shitty draft to have the #1 overall pick.

Agreed, I sure wish someone would fall in love with Newton or some other player and be willing to trade up with us to get him. Moving down a few spots and picking up a second rounder would be really nice.

a perfect draft for me would be trade down in the top eight(since they have said all alone they have eight they all looking at) Then what would really be nice, trade down yet again, pick up a 2nd and who knows a 1st next year in the process.
Even picking in the teens we'd pick up a good player

Love all the trade talk, since:

    1. Trades are prohibited at the moment.
    2. This is Madden 2011.

    Ok, great.

But can you trade a pick for a player? My understanding on this was "hell no", but I've been wrong a lot.
