    Red-card record already shattered

BERLIN (AP) -- More red cards have been shown at this World Cup than at any other, with 12 games remaining.

Sunday's match between Portugal and the Netherlands, in which 16 yellow cards and four reds were shown, brought the total of red cards in Germany 2006 to 23 in 52 matches. The four red cards were the most in any single World Cup match.

I just can't see how that ref made that call. With so much on the line and that late in stoppage time you would have to be pretty damn flagrant with a foul to call it. As the replay showed the ref bought that dive hook, line and sinker.

OMG, what a terrible decision. You could see it coming, the Italian was trying to get into the box so he could flop. Absolutely stunning the ref would call that so late, and he was right there. Feel sorry for the Auzzies.

That section of the draw is really weak too. Winner plays Ukraine, while Germany and Argentina clash, those two teams could have met in the final. That semi-final match will be a disapointment.
