Yeah since i will have a decent paying job soon, I just went ahead and ordered my souped up iMac G5. It's going to be sweet, especially to play World of Warcraft on.

If you're going to game, just make sure you spend money on a graphics card.

Battlefield 2 is kicking my Athlon 3500 & GeForce 6800 in the groin. Jheez it's ridiculous.

I'm not getting it for gaming reasons. More for music creation. So it's all good

There might be something between the Mac and music stuff. The musical director of the last band I worked with had a Mac and a music editing program that was absolutely unreal. Fact is, in order to compose, all he needed were the sounds of the instruments and he could compose and arrange, or rearrange, a composition from the ground up, literally. He could take a badly played take and re sync it to be darned near perfect. Sorry, I don't remember the program.

It's used to make almost every album nowadays. Most of the hot shot prodcuers think it's ridiculous, because it's supposedly too easy to make hit records with it.

I can understand that. This technique has been used for many years. But now the programs have gotten so sophisticated that in the hands of a musically knowledgeable engineer, a rank amateur(we all start here)player can be made to sound like a seasoned pro.
Anyhow, in the hands of a composer it can be an invaluable tool.
