What would a Baker for Darnold trade look like to the bottom line? A wash?

Pretty much, although I can't see Cleveland taking Sam off our hands.

Agreed, whether to seattle or cleveland or elsewhere Darnold would need to picks attached to osweiler his contract away.

At the end of the day, both teams need to unload a guy that could be detrimental to their team overall and both cost about 20 million. Baker would be a major distraction from Watson and having Baker here will be just as good as Darnold, both guys I think are on their last year?

I do not want to draft a qb this year. Pickett is the best and his resume is 1 year. No just no

I expect them to take the top tackle left on the board, and then pick up Mayfield or Garoppolo later in the offseason. This regime isn't going to stake their jobs on running it back with Sam or taking a developmental quarterback at #6, and there is not much of a market for a trade back this year.

    1) OT at #6. (Probably Cross, based on projections)

    2) Trade for Garoppolo over the summer, or sign Mayfield after Cleveland is forced to release him.

    3) Dispose of Darnold.

2 and 3 have cap implications, but that's fungible AF these days.

B&B would getting Baker include sending then Darnold? I mean if they are trading Baker they must know they will eat some of the contract. Why not just trade contracts and a late round pick?
I would still like a trade back to get a second rd pick but we are fucked needing a qb in what might be the worst draft for them in years

There must be some poison pills somewhere because I have mentioned this on several occasions.

Both teams need to move last years starting QB, both are former 1st round picks, both are owed in the 20 million range. Cleveland needs to get rid of Baker worse than we need to get rid of Sam.

Trade the 2 QB's and their contracts and Carolina gets a 6th from Cleveland. But I have not studied their contracts and trades vs cuts admittedly
