Could be because...HE WASN'T THE COACH! Give him the 9-3, but should he get credit for games he wasn't even at? That team lost a lot of very close games. You can't tell me K wouldn't have been good for a few more victories.

I understand that smashmouth, but would such a CLASSY coach hang his assistant out to dry like he did Gaudet. Smith might not have won as many championships as K, but he was always loyal to his players and coaches.

Crest (why are you named after a brand of tootpaste? Never mind), Gaudet was the COACH - and the team fell apart under him. Lost many close games, and even a guy who couldn't coach in the NBA (Doug Collins) had input for him - and Pete lost control of the team.
I think Dean just left Doh "out to dry"...Doh had MORE talent than K did during the "hip replacement year" - and Gaudet would have outcoached Vanilla Ice.

i wouldn't call j will a joke. He really deserved it last year, but like battier wasn't gonna get that. Kinda like ron dayne winning the heisman ( he did didn't he???). Didn't have a great year, but a lifetime acheivement award. Battier got it last year, williams deserved. Williams rewarded this year.

I will agree with you on that one WYDD. Williams definitely had a better year last year and probably was the best player on the team. This year that might have been Dunleavy. Anyway, these awards are always politics anyway.
As far as my name, I kept it the same as the Charlotte board where I used to only post on high school football. Crest Chargers all the way!

I don't understand how Gooden and Dickau got more votes than Dixon. I still don't understand how Gonzaga got all the way up to 6th in the polls once, either. I got a kick out of Wilcox swatting and stuffing Gooden's first 3 shot attempts the other night.

Anyone think Dixon wouldn't win it now? I said it before this year - and I'll say it again now. I'd take Dixon over ANYone on this list. Williams, Gooden, all of them.
Today, tomorrow....the next day. I love a kid like Juan Dixon. There's something to be said for "intestinal fortitude" - that and the ability to create your own "tweener" shot from 10-12 feet (Dixon is great on both counts).
