Will we be able to run the ball effectively this season?

Will we be able to run the ball?

  1. No, our OL is coming off injuries and has to learn a new blocking scheme

  2. It will be about the same as last year, Smith will pull enough attention away to open some holes

I think this is the biggest factor in our success so what do you think?

There's every reason to believe we should be better, at least. Top 5? That might be a little ambitious, but probably the goal.

I know its early, but any thoughts on who'll get the majority of carries this year? I'm gonna guess it'll be Foster, and to his credit he ran pretty well last year. Top 10 until the Cinci game, and then after that we kinda started going downhill in the category. I would love to see Deangelo get alot more carries this year. Not as powerful as Deshaun but he is electric. Looked real good in the Vikings and Eagles game

We should be top 10. That's my expectation. Things might be a little slow immediately, but ultimately, we have a scheme that fits our personnel, and our coaches stress the importance of running the football. Barring injury, there's absolutely no reason not to be successful in this department.

Depends on how the new zone blocking is picked up by the OL. It has to be better than the power blocking scheme's we used since we really don't have any power-type OL or power RB's (wonder why our running attack sucked last year). It has to be better you would think and I hope it is because the less we have to depend on Delhomie the better off we'll be.

    I said no.

I don't see the OL learning a new blocking scheme/offense and all of a sudden becoming a top run OL, not to mention Foster stinks. Williams should be the starter after preseason.
