You keep running through those memory banks about the science you've been exposed to. I'll patiently wait for new info. If the AMA can get the feds to reschedule, we might see some more useful studies conducted. If that's incorrect, that's on them. Their words, not mine.

I wholeheartedly agree that cannabis should not be for children and can see the challenges we will face to curtail illegal use by minors once it is legal for consumption. It will require active parenting. That is rare enough these days, but perhaps more suitable for another forum.

As for rationalizing my past or defending bad decisions I've made... I'm generally a pretty happy guy. Got the wife, house, and all the "toys" I could want (other than the convertible, but maybe that will come with the mid-life crisis in a few years). I am very comfortable with the decisions I've made, including multiple trips to Amsterdam and Jamaica in my twenties. No regrets here. Life's been good to me. :)

No, if you were interested in information then you would be following current and past research on the subject. Instead you're ignoring or denying all that until you find something that fits with your preconceived notions.

If you weren't self-conscious about being a pothead in your past then you wouldn't be arguing for marijuana use in this thread. It's a lot like how adulterers argue to other people that cheating isn't a big deal and doesn't necessarily harm relationships. Most people invent rationalizations to excuse past or present behavior instead of taking responsibility.

Yeah, earlier I mentioned how married women will take it the ass from other men and then claim that it's not really cheating. I think that's just the world we live in now.

I'll put this another way. There is no scientific debate about whether or not marijuana is a harmful substance. It is. That has been proven conclusively in numerous studies and it is an accepted scientific fact. (cue the predictable and pointless arguments about how bad marijuana is compared to ______) Now if someone wants to employ the libertarian argument that they should have the freedom to indulge in something harmful as long as it isn't harming someone else, I can respect that even if I don't agree with it. But the dishonesty behind the campaign to argue against all medical and scientific data on the subject and say that marijuana isn't harmful or might even be beneficial drives me up the fucking wall. If you want to get high, be a man and say so. Don't spew bullshit to excuse proclivities, be a man and own it.

The players are going to sell out so hard to get weed off the banned substances list; 50 game seasons and paycuts are coming.

I'd just like to sit on my back porch, pour a nice ipa and be able to endulge in something that may or not be harmful. Cigarettes are bad for you but legal

The only question is... will this board still be around when NC gets around to changing the laws?

Until then I'll just sit here and wallow in my self-concious regret.

NFL owners have to be conscious of this, no way they want the stoner league image. Not to mention the fact that half the players burn or vape and it would impact FA process. Or potentially would. I can't imagine the owners being cool with their spokesman going there.

I think that if most people used herb rather than alcohol our society would be a lot safer and less violent. We should study that.

Less violent perhaps, but definitely not safer and probably a lot less functional as well. DUIs from marijuana are no less dangerous than alcohol, and the effects of THC on the brain are more persistent than from alcohol.

    Must.... resist..... temptation..... to..... post.....

Let's just say I am NOT an advocate of driving stoned, but it's not even in the same ballpark as driving drunk. I'd point those interested in the direction of the CNN special where Gupta addresses this, but I'm sure someone would discount the validity/credibility.

    :D
