I don't think it goes as far as Fox. It belongs at the feet of Hurney and the scouts.

Fox is the one who keeps saying the season was alot better than anyone realized, and that we can just sit pat. Nothing is wrong. He said it last year, leading to our do nothing strategy. He's starting to sound like it this year too.

That's the mindset I've been fighting all year long, and I feared that it would be the response of those in charge. That's not to say that I think Fox should be fired for it, but someone needs to sit him down for a talk.

possibly, and an OK analogy. I think more than the "stuck in philosophy" issue relating to decision, is that we slump. I can't discount anything about the second portion of the Houston game - the part that blew - because we let ourselves down mentally. And if you can explain it, you're better than I am, because I don't know. We've been a slumpy team at times. In our championship level teams, we've had slumps. You could make a case for our schemes not adjusting, and to a point I'd agree, but it's more than just that.

That certainly was a mistake. Regardless of the coaching issues, we needed positive change on talent. If you're not moving forward, you're falling behind, and other related cliches, but we really made our talent worse despite what I still feel is a very good draft.

As for JR, I know Steve Reed has to put out a story, so he's looking for resolution, but it's a holiday Tuesday after the last game. Coaches generally wouldn't even be past the last game at this point in the week. You get home, you go away for two days for the holiday. JR doesn't owe us an explanation or a plan on New Year's.

It's disturbing if Fox thinks things are fine and once Jake is back it's smooth sailing. But that's a big IF that's what he thinks. Fox is known for talking in circles and saying absolutely nothing at all so the question then becomes does Fox really think things are fine and dandy or is that just giving the press quotes that don't mean sh!t.

Richardson isn't going to talk to anyone he doesn't want to. It's frustrating as a fan, but I would hope he's spending a lot of time talking to those who matter, going over things unemotionally and trying to make the best decision for the organization which is all I can ask.

Do you have Fox/Hurney on short leash in 2008? I'd say if we get to 8 losses we say goodbye

Since when does Richardson owe the local press anything? He'll tell us what he wants to tell us when he is damn good and ready. There is no need to try and manufacture a story out of a non story.

If you are a complacent fan, then nothing. If you want to know what is going on with the organization, and not some columnists views on it, you talk to your local beat reporters.

Columnists will give you their opinion, rather than the story. Personally, a STATEMENT from JR would go a long way (IMO) to the fans that want the story.
