Wie got screwed

If it takes a piece of string to tell you she dropped a couple of inches closer to the hole then let it slide. She made the effort to triangulate. She did what she was supposed to.

And fuck that reporter for waiting a whole day and until after she signed her card to bring it up.

 

I don't think officials should be able to take input from non-official personel. Hell anyone could claim someone cheated. If another caddie/player brings it up, that is fine. But some spectator is BS.

 

so she didnt get to add 53K to her 10 million in endorsements? She's a pro, and expected to know ALL the rulkes. any questions she has should be made to rules officials. thats why they have an army of them at every tourney. I had something similar happen to me in a USGA event about 6 years ago, but got the correct ruling before playing on. Need to be sure, especially with so much cash at stake.

 

It was a small event and there was no official around. I think it is the time frame that it was reported. And for me, who reported it.

 

There have been people who call in watching events on TV who see a player's ball move and their reports have been upheld. I still think she got screwed if it took a tape measure to determine she fucked up by inches.

 

golf is already a ponderous sport to watch. can you imagine if they had to get the measuring tape out on every play like this?

 

Which is part of the reason why people are giving up on it.

to golf purists it may not seem that anal but to guys like you and me its laughable. those guys need their ass kicked.

 

dont get me wrong, people calling in rulings from their barcalounger need to be offed in th ename of humanity, but still, if she had any doubts, she should have consulted her playing partner, or at worst, asked for a rules official.

thats all im saying.

and FWIW, i am sure she will make plenty of checks on the LPGA so this is nothing more than a learning experience. She handled it very well too.
