I think he refused to play special teams, which pissed off Parcels, and got him cut. He had a couple of weeks where he had some impressive catches, but no thanks.

i would love to see us get a better option at #2 wr but i think we have other needs. what we need is a couple of olinemen to protect jake better and for jake to throw to who is open and not just look for smith from the get go. be more balanced. even p.manning dosent lock onto harrison every play and we need a bruiser rb who can carry 30 times a game and stay healthy all year. get all that and i think colbert and carter and either proehl or a cheap fa/draft pick is all we need. henning needs to make some better calls also IMHO.

For a one year patch Keenan Mcardell might be good. I am am all for beefing up the OL and getting a good running back but when you have a wide out being covered by half the defense and no one else can do anything to pull that coverage off him you need a #2 wideout.

Those guys didn't do it as often as Jake did this year, although Bledsoe came fairly close. And no, it's not really a footwork issue. Jake has bad footwork on good throws and bad throws, and while I'd love to see him look better mechanically, it really is as simple as Jake making absolutely stupid decisions on occasion. As you mentioned, sometimes it's caused by pressure, but other times it seems to be caused by game situations and sometimes there's just no explanation at all. Actually, quite a lot of those mistakes seem to come when Jake throws to an area before even looking in that direction. The Miami INT with Lance Shulters just sitting in the area he was throwing to comes to mind.

But yeah, I don't ever expect Jake to get better. I wish and hope, but I don't expect it.

both the Chicago INTs from week 11 were running left, releasing the ball without feet set. That's footwork, to me.

Not without a real QB coach to get into his head and stay there, no.

It's not the best thing you can do, but I dunno if you decide to have bad technique, or if the situation forces you out of what you're comfortable with.

Agreed that we need it, don't necessarily agree that a QBs coach will change Jake's thought processes. He would, hopefully, cut down on mistakes, and help adjust the O to minimize dealing with things Jake struggles with, and certainly footwork can be a technique issue.
