Here, it was C2, the trend at that point (which was squashed two years later with the PI enforcing). It's not Fox' predominant style, which is disguise C3. We actually went somewhat toward C3 at the end of 02, which was partially because of using Wesley at CB, partially because Witherspoon was being picked apart when at MLB.

I'd thought that he'd run two-gap C2 like the Ravens, or at least odd front 4-3 like Tampa, but he didn't (I was really hoping, at that point, that Morgan would get that, since he'd finally be able to play right - I assumed that Rucker, Buck, and Jenx would and could play 2 gap, and I think they could do either well at the time, though their strengths lie in 1 gap).

He ran Fox' basic one gap most of the time (it's not like playbooks don't have the variations in there, of course). The whole thing is what you call and what you have your team prepare.

But JDR does get a lot of credit for blitzing a lot, and keeping a D stoked, when our 2002 D had tons of letdowns and we rarely blitzed. Trgo blitzed more in 03, and more in 04, than JDR in 02, I'm guessing.

Agreed on the rest, not that I was agressively contesting the prior.

should have taken a look at the clock....14 seconds for one pass play is BS....I guarantee there was time left on the clock....everyone was talking about the catch being good....nobody addressed the fact that the play took 14 seconds.....doesn't had up......14 seconds to run a 20 yard pass.

Two plays. There were 14 seconds left on the first nullified touchdown to Smith. There were 7 seconds left before the Proehl miscue.
