Beyonce becoming famous did not make Jennifer Lopez look worse, Ben Affleck did.

Wouldn't it be pretty easy to assume that the philosophy of JDR was still dominant in Trgovac's first season as a DC? Why would 2003 be the only season you want to compare? Why isn't 04 valid in the comparison?

#1) JDR has a philosophy? That's news to everyone in the NFL.

#2) Explain the logic in saying that Trgovac wouldn't install his "philosophy" in his first year, but JDR would have in his only year, and it would be so strong as to persist after he left. Or to put it another way, imagine that Trgovac had been hired by some other team after his only year. How could he get less credit for '03 than JDR got for '02? Each would have had only one season.

Kris Jenkins missed most of the season, Mike Rucker has never been the same since re-injuring his knee, we were dinged up at multiple other positions, and our early struggles to run the ball put dramatically more pressure on our defense. It was a drastically different situation.

I'm not trying to make any bold assessments. It just seemed odd that you were arguing that you can't question Trgo becuase 03 was statistcally equivalant to 02 while ignoring 04. Watching the defenses since 02, it's just not the same.

At least try to read a post before replying to it. I quote again for your benefit:
"JDR is not a good defensive mind and was not better than Trgovac = opinion
Our defense in 2003 was almost identical statistically to our 2002 defense = fact
    "

If you need any clarification as to what that means, it's perfectly fine for someone to argue that JDR was a better DC than Trgovac (although I disagree), but it's 100% wrong to say that the statistics prove such a disparity. They don't.
