    That is an artist has 5 or more CDs the earlier stuff is always better. I love early U2 and Metallica but wouldn't walk across the street for free copies of their "newer" stuff.

    Creative peaks. Complacency. REM took more like 8 or 9 records to reach the peak. The Beatles were better on their later records. U2's last great record IMO was Achtung Baby, which was , I think, album #6.
