Thelt, no blame here on Jake, but the play-calling in the 2nd half and OT clearly changed last night. I applaud the Panthers for going into a hostile environment and nearly coming away with a win. But with that said, those who like to win are just suggesting some things that may have made winning more possible.

Obviously prevent defenses don't work very well,,,, and most will agree that prevent offenses don't either.

I was good with it all up until the last drive of regulation. I would have been a bit more aggressive. Trusting Kasay to make a 50 yarder in those winds was not very smart.

Still though we played well for the most part on offense and I feel good about our chances to win there should we play them again in January.

you could say they were too conservative late when they could have picked on Ross a bit more, but if they're stacked on the run they're not going to let much happen with the backs in the passing game either. I'd agree they were conservative once the lead got big, which isn't how we've been in wins like ATL or DEN where they were stacking the run. It's been a while since we've gone Fromunda, though.

Jake overthrows the ball anyway. With the wind as bad as it was the giants safteys would have a field day. We played a hell of a game. you can't be mad at that. Let's beat the saints and run the table.

We played them tough and almost won it. I was much happier with the play in this game than the Tampa Bay (loss) game. We almost had it won before overtime.

We just need to take care of New Orleans now.

I am not real confident in how this team would respond to being the number one seed anyway. Having to win this week will keep them sharp going into the playoffs. Winning last night would have meant three weeks before a meaningful game....

Back to Jake and the offense though, he put us in position to win the game with the field goal. It was not his fault that Kasay missed it.

And I wouldn't blame Kasay either, that wind must have been brutal. Kasay has definitely proven himself as being pretty reliable on this team, if everyone else was as reliable as Kasay, we'd be in Super Bowls every year.

I do agree with your comment about the #1 seed, for whatever reason, we haven't handled success well in the past. This team has talent for sure, but they have seemed to (come together) and play better when they are slight underdogs.
