Not sure. I know you'll get a black helmet, because our current helmet is awesome and the goal is to destroy all awesome things about the Panthers.

It's a well known truism that people who are wildly successful in one area of life are convinced that they could have been in others if they had made different choices. You see it a lot with actors who haven't even finished high school, but who know how to look and sound intelligent.

Tepper probably thinks he can run a football team as well as a hedge fund.

Steve Bisciotti is a good example of a good owner. He was basically a salesman. He made his fortune in commercial sales. And he grew an empire from it. John Harbaugh talked about this in an interview recently: how important it is to have an owner who knows how to deal with people.

Refreshingly, he limits his interactions to the media and he lets his football operations people do all the work. That’s how you run an operation. Staff with the best, get out of the way.

Hedge fund folks typically aren’t big into relationships. It’s all about process and numbers. And that’s fine, but that’s what Dave is. There are going to be some clunky, awkward moments along the way here.

The fact that he led the charge on hiring the head coach, with Marty by his side, really makes me uneasy. I think they might’ve stumbled into the right guy accidentally, but it’s not like it’s that scientific. The same five or six names were being considered by all the teams looking for a coach. I wanted Eric, but I’m OK with Matt.

It's possible that he was convinced by Sports Illustrated that Rhule was the right guy. That's what we should all be concerned about.

I’m not gonna punish Matt because I have problems with Dave.

Matt came in and turned around a scum bucket, fire dumpster of a program after Art Briles. He’s a bona fide football guy, and football people I trust like him. That’s good enough for me.
