    Obscure? Pointless?

What's obscure and pointless in wondering about a defense that shows no emotion, except for the occasional outburst by the RT? Ray Lewis' obnoxious attitude in Baltimore may be scoffed at by many, but at least he instills a bit of edge into his teammates, even if he is always the last guy on the pile. I don't see that in any of the Panthers, except Jenkins.

Our defense has never been dominant for a whole season but it has been pretty solid most of the time and occassionally dominant for a game or two. Our defense is good enough to win a championship when paired with a good offense. I think our D could be dominant if we had better safeties and linebackers. The talent is there on the DL and at corner. If Morgan had stayed healthy (I know) that would have made a difference at least in the run defense.

Showing emotion and playing with emotion are two different things, IMO. I've seen a lot of teams "show" emotion, but that can often work against you. What you see with our unit is a business-like approach, with a good balance of intensity and focus.

Besides, it's hard to stay on an emotional peak when you're sucking wind because the offense can't stay on the fucking field. It's a team game.

The Panthers D is more like a part time business.

They close down the shop a few hours before everyone else.

Could be because our offense (3 and out) makes them put in overtime hours in the third quarter.
