I agree that Kuechly would give them that ability, I'm just not sure it's relevant. New Orleans is the only division rival who goes to those spread sets more than occasionally. For the record, I'd be fine with Kuechly because I believe he's a good player, but I think that doing so means you're going to cut Beason's contract next offseason. Plus, nickel looks mean more DBs on the field which is the weakness of the defense already.

fair enough on 260+. The pair are still not the same player.

that's the same reason I wouldn't take him. I don't know for certain he's an elite coverage player, and most teams don't have three fantastic LB because one comes off the field. So, if you're in need for "maybe" the third guy, you don't make that "maybe" guy blue chip. Anderson was crap in coverage last year but was very good the year before, so it's more or less worth anticipating he's not a weak link.

LB and DE are both similar. We don't have to have a guy. I'm comfortable with Hardy with better depth. I'm comfortable with a later tweener that gets after the pass hardcore, or a bigger end that can take some of those run downs. The idea that we're just going to sit there with the same four players every down in the same alignments or that we have to have "this" specifically is a major flaw and far too conventional of thinking.

I'm more and more enjoying being able to say what I'd want, and not having to worry about the dickwagging and fucking stupidity. I've always had too much patience for just such a thing, but my time is a valuable enough commodity that I really feel like enjoying my time with this instead of having to endure it.

But some people value your opinion and come here to talk intelligently. :wink2:

No two players are identical, but they're similar enough that the comparison is reasonable.

I disagree, but I'm not really inclined to keep giving a fuck about things like an Eric Norwood comparison.
