Should I put it inline with CD player in PC or hard drive? or in it's own IDE. If I only have 2 IDE and hard drive is on one and CD is on other which is preferred for new burner

yank that cd player out and give the burner its own ide. You dont need both.

If you feel you have to have 2 cd-roms, install the burner as a master and the cdrom on the same IDE as a slave. That's the way it was explained to me and it worked pretty good for a while.

yep..thats correct. really no need for. you dont want to copy from cd rom to another. Better to copy the cd to your harrd drive and then copy to cdrw

I always slave the cdrom to the hard drive and let the burner have a clear ide. I've never had any problems burning from either the cdrom or the harddrive.

Ok, this was a first. I loaded the Burner, another 512 Ram Simm, and a cheapo sound card. One at a time and am running with no problems. First time that has ever happened seems something always messes up. Now I need to find a new video board. Waiting on the Ultimate computer to make me some recommendations

Yes, AGP ready. I had bought a few other things for this bare bones computer I have been using and set aside tonight to install all of it. Bought an inexpensive sound card so I could hook up some speakers and sub woofer, optical mouse (which doesn't work yet, loaded software, it lites up but still doesn't move mouse, any ideas?) more ram
