George R Martin and Jordan are NOTHING alike in their story telling. Jordan writes a lot about a little, Martin has TONS packed into each story, with plot lines deeply woven and richly developed. Hell, he even kills off major characters unexpectedly periodically...

Jordan review: "Is Jordan still doing the work of the light?"
Martin review: "Sound complicated? It is, but fine writing makes this a thoroughly satisfying stew of dark magic, complex political intrigue, and horrific bloodshed."

Anyway, the fact that you're tearing through it speaks louder than my comments. I'll be ripping through book 4 when it finally ships...

That is about true, I swear he is gonna die before he finishes off that damn series, book 9 was redeeming the series, then out comes book 10... it is terrible, 80% of it is the female storylines "Gee... where's Rand?" "Oh I have to become queen" "men are worthless, I hate them" "what was that huge use of the source?" "oh no, we have to reunite the tower, but we are too pathetic to actually try" and then repeat it 500 times or until you brutally bash your head open with a tack hammer.

    it is total crap.

    What are you reading now?

Just finished Thomas Paine's "The Age of Reason", I'm going to read "Adventures Of Huck Finn" next. All these classic books are pretty cool, I wish I had read them in school instead of the cliff notes.

NO, but I read "Franny and Zoey" also by JD Salinger last year for a class, pretty cool book. So I guess try Catcher in the Rye.

I did read Bob Ueker's biog once, "Catcher in Wry".
