Look at the halftime stats....Fitz had 150 yards in that half. The game, was basically over by mid-Q3 so the full game stats are meaningless.

I am willing to give the offense a mulligan on this one. Jake sucked, the OL didn't protect, and our execution was pitiful. I thought the playcalling was good with an effort to establish the run early then go to a play action passing game.

I am much more concerned with the D long-term/big picture. Our O was good enough to average 31ppg in the last half of the year against some pretty good teams. Much tougher than first half. But our D really showed it's holes. DT is a weakness, and Marshall and Godfrey seemed confused and out of position from just about mid-season on.

If any unit needs an overhaul it's the D.

Too bad no one saw Jake make up the passing yardage differential

An unfortunately large number of people in the world are stupid. The reason you get more crap for it than just about any of them is that you're more belligerent in your stupidity than just about anyone. Instead of becoming aware of the fact that you said something dumb, and if not apologizing for that then at least shutting the fuck up, your natural reaction is to argue in defense of your idiotic statement. That's why you're a plague on all our houses.

In any case, Samuel, Brown, and Sheppard give Philadelphia the best trio of corners in the league, which is what allows them to blitz so often and yet not give up many big passing plays. Brodrick Bunkley is also one of the best DTs in the NFC, as you would have noticed if you watched the game yesterday. Trent Cole is also one of the better pass rushers in the NFC. Moreover, they have no below average players starting for their defense. Every single defensive starter except for Juqua Parker and Asante Samuel were drafted by the Philadelphia organization, whereas several of our starters were cast-offs from other teams.

And I won't even get started on how amazingly stupid it was for you to say that Pittsburgh doesn't have any defensive "studs."

FYI collin, Sheppard is the 4th cb on the Eagles now. Joselio Hanson is now the 3rd. Half contract dispute/half performance, if the Panthers are not afraid of injury problems, he'd actually be a great fit for them.

Stewart Bradley might be the best young MLB in the league. Even though I'm an Eagles fan...I'll still give the nod to Beason, slight nod though.

Quintin Mikell was a second team all pro pick.

Mike Patterson is also a stud DT, 31st pick. Bunkley was 14th. They will be terrors for years.

Darren Howard, former saint who terrorized the Panthers, also contributed 9 sacks in spot/rotation play. That was big for the Birds.

Behind all those players on the D-line are 2nd round draft picks in Abiamiri and Trevor Laws who are raved about by Eagles beat writers. Abiamiri could be a player if he stays healthy.

If you think the Eagles defense is a bunch of no names, you are wrong. Relative unknowns....maybe, but many were high draft picks.

Bradley isn't as good in coverage as Beason.

Beason caught about as many passes in that game as Steve Smith
