I know it is all but done but what if Fox and the team had a change of heart and he stayed.

I think it could work and we would be winning again soon. It would require Jerry being willing to pay some guys though. First goal would be to find a solid veteran QB. I doubt Fox wants to go with Clausen or Luck next year if he is back.

I wouldn't mind Fox staying (I rather doubt he would at this point), but if he brings davidson and others back besides meeks, hell fuking no.

Fox is probably better than anyone else who might want this job. You just cant extend a coach after a season like this.

I think this was going to be his last season here even if we had won the superbowl. It was decided before the season started. I think you could extend him with credibility if you wanted to keep him and he wanted to stay. This team has played hard all year despite the losing. His teams have always hung in there despite bad circumstances. The 2004 team kept playing hard and almost made the playoffs. Last year's team finished strong.

I know it will not happen but I would be happy to see Fox back.

He's had 3 winning seasons in 9 years, and you want him back ?

It's time for him to go. People want some excitement or they're gonna quit going to the games, period. Whoever we get will put asses in the seats for a while, out of curiosity if nothing else. We should be able to put a few back to back winning seasons togther, even if it's just 9-7.

Yes I do. Three winning seasons in nine years include one superbowl and a NFCCG are pretty solid. When you throw in that he did it Jake Delhomme it is outstanding.

Winning games will get people excited again. Get Fox a real QB and he will win consistently.

this is a good reason why he needs to go. its time to find one of our own. not more castoffs, defects, has-beens and never-weres from other depth charts. guy wins a crummy game against a team nearly as disasterous as we are and suddenly we're forgetting the laundry list of problems that we have. no thanks.

It's possible Thelt, but I have a pretty strong feeling the decision's already been made. Just by reading stuff, you know that was Fox's last home game. They're not going to keep him.
