They signed Casper Brinkley out of S. Carolina. They're good to go.

Well, the team signed a DT with some pass rush skills. A healthy Walker is a good Walker. On pass downs, he and Lewis will give us some push. We may see Brayton slip inside on pass downs as well from time to time.

Charles Johnson was productive in college. It was known that he was raw and needed to get stronger, so lets hope he's dedicated his first year to getting stronger and getting better, and he's ready to roll. McClover is active at least. And of course there is Peppers, who is a three time pro bowl DE.

It's not like we don't have a plan. We have one.

Pray Peppers has a good enough year to draw a lot of double teams and open holes for the other guys who can't rush the passer well?

Have a shitty run defense and the pass rush won't matter.

But all those great years don't matter because once a player has an off year, they will NEVER be any good. Don't you know anything? :SPcheer006cheerbril

there's a ton available that have higher than a top ten defense year in and year out. Every year.

anyway, the best thing we could do about it after the draft was get Walker. Scott helped too, because he's more run-situational, which means fresher DTs. Of course, we had "enough" DT rush last year and it didn't matter, but we should be solid at DT on run downs. Possibly enough to put Peppers and a situational slug on the field.

2002 under Del Rio - number 2 total in the league

    2003 Since Trgovac - Number 8

    2004 - Number 20

    2005 - Number 3

    2006 - Number 7

    2007 - Number 16

The defense has shown no signs of consistency under Trgovac considering the talent level on paper has gotten better since Del Rio.

and there's most of the problem right there.

The rest is griping about a guy who brought two top ten defenses and thinking it's nowhere near good enough.
