That's because most of them are stupid local hayseeds and not true visiting fans.

I don't think it's a surprise that some opinions are naturally toward Delhomme's positive performance and that some are toward it being more consistently negative. That he had a few off throws is something we agree on, but if the idea is that he was "awful" again then we'll certainly have to disagree.

I do think that the idea of chat as a reliable source of information/dissention/consensus/anything more reliable than wikipedia is starting to become more normal than I'd like, personally.

More than a few, as he was consistently inaccurate. That's not been surprising because the guy is coming off major surgery and has missed almost an entire year, so of course there are going to be timing and accuracy issues. I'm not "blaming" Jake, I'm simply pointing out the facts.
First, I'm probably as credible a judge of the Panthers as anyone on the planet. I know my stuff and I back it up. So when I say something and a group of interested & informed Panthers fans who were intently watching the game agree with what I said, then that's a lot more compelling than Wikipedia. It's still possible that we could collectively be wrong, but it's pretty damned unlikely. I'm sure we're all also hoping that he'll look better next week.

your opinion is credible, and even if it didn't come with a bunch of qualifications it's still worth saying. I'm not discrediting that.

I'm saying that chat isn't really a reasonable source of information, after having been in chat for years and years seeing all the nonsense in there. What happens in chat isn't reliably the same as what's said after the heat of the moment, and certainly, there'd be a propensity to not state dissenting opinion in chat.

You can have "Balls Deep!," "AIDS," and "CLICK CLACK" in between plays while still competently discussing the live action. That's why we're in there.
There was plenty of dissenting opinion on lots of topics, as there always is. People tend to be less guarded in chats than anywhere else, and there isn't as much concern about retribution from me since I'm too preoccupied to write out paragraph insults. Plus I wasn't wearing pants and had to deal with a low flow toilet. In any case, we agreed on Jake having spotty accuracy and Davidson being an idiot because we all saw those things the same way. There were other things we didn't reach a consensus on.

Jake wasn't sharp, I don't think that can be argued.

Hopefully he'll improve a bit, and the WRs and he will become locked in a little better. Let's not forget we were scrambling to put guys on the field there. Probably won't settle down with that until a week or two after Smitty comes back.

I enjoy going to the Carolina-Atlanta game in Atlanta. They usually have some fans who talk, but good natured ribbing, in the upper deck. It seems the pissy-looking-for-a-fight Falcon fans are the ones who predominately travel to Charlotte for our home game.

Like kickazzz said, I think most of those are locals who root for a different team and hate the Panthers because of that.
