isn't he essentially in one already?

I'm ambivalent about a Ginn trade. For a 6, I can deal with it. We've put a lot into special teams, so I could see it.

I could also easily see them neither doing this nor drafting a return specialist. I mean, they like Munnerlyn and Sutton, and they can say they have Goodson, so theoretically, they could stand pat.

Ginn could let us draft another larger receiver, and I'd be OK with that - but again, that one slot has to fill what we need. We have 89, we have Jarrett, Wright will be active undoubtedly, so does Ginn address all our WR needs? It's a big gamble, because you can't really fit much else in. Moore in this or any other scenario is inactive but makes the team, which fits us better than another draft pick that would sit in workout pants on the sideline.
So - can Ginn play the slot?
He has speed, he has talent, but he'd have to play the slot well.
Even if he is stupid, he's coming from essentially the same offense, so he can't have more problems learning or be worse than he is.

Can't say Ginn excites me all that much. Drops too many passes for me. I guess if it was a late, late pick i could understand it and he would definitely spice up the return game. As a 2nd receiver though he just doesn't fit the bill though.

His drops are probably over stated. He had a couple of really bad ones last year and sometimes that can make it look worse than it really is. He would be an upgrade on Moose and Jarrett. At the very least he has the the speed to stretch the field and therefore pull some coverage off Smith.

He's not even a very good returner. He's had a couple of big ones, but his body of work is pretty similar to what we've had.

He's Drew Carter. He's a body-catching, 9 route specialist. That's not at all what we need.

This may be stupid, but the most intriguing name to me on that list is Brad Smith. Anyone know what his tender is?
