I'm saying it had nothing to do with our current cap standing. Are you to suggest that, since we're at $1 mil, we're done in FA?

Grant made it pretty clear that he didn't think we wanted him back - right after the Superbowl.

    And our actions spoke.

Really - this is the only loss that really confuses me. Howard and James got so overpaid it's crazy. Miami fans even think so. Cousin is very replacable.

But I'd have thought we'd sign Grant for more than he even got. While I understand Howard and James, I don't get the Grant move. And I don;t think we wanted him - which confuses me more.

I don't think there was panic. I think they didn't think he was good enough to pay. And, in fairness, he didn't get much.

Good thing there's 6 months before kickoff.

Then you'd probably have felt that way before we signed Meadows to his $3 mil deal and Manumaleuna to his $2.4 mil deal (grr) since we had $1.2 mil cap room, per ESPN, then.

When you go to an auction it is better to determine what you think something is worth before hand and stop around that figure than it is to determine you want a particular piece and let someone else determine its worth.

Maybe they have strong feelings about someone in the draft and feel that he can play some next year, then become pro bowl caliber. Maybe they don't feel that FS is a spot where you have to have a playmaker. Maybe Grant spit on Fox's wife.

SO you think we won't sign anyone else to a deal the size of Grant's asking price. Noted.

I disagree. History shows we can, and it'll quite possibly be another lineman. For the sarcasm thing.

still need money to sign the rooks too

cap is not why we lost Grant, my guess is that we'll pay more to replace him
