I dunno...a big part of building your team through the draft is to keep your good young players you've developed into their second contract (usually the prime of the player's career). I think it is more of a cap issue than that they didn't like him.

To tell the truth, I have one foot firmly planted in each party.

I keep thinking to myself....Hawkins would be an upgrade over Cousins, Vincent would be an upgrade over Grant (or Howard), and we could draft an upgrade to the other DB in the 1st at S or CB. This could still work!

I just don't really believe that we will sign Vincent. Ughh.....

If we sign Vincent, or Taylor, then it shows we're actually attempting to work on it. Up to now, it's been as big or bigger than line, and neglected. We got a nickelback. Then, as I've said, I shut up because we're taking a step. I'd have preferred to keep Grant but if we do something else there and upgrade corner, then that's fine. But do something.

DAMN IT!!!I wanted them to resign Grant. I don't feel good about this right now. IF they sign someone like Vincent, I might be o.k., but right now I am worried our secondary is really going to suck ass now.

    That would be boy.

What Mags is talking about is also a good example of why we shouldn't put to much stock into what Rams fans say about Manu on their boards....or Bengals fans about Hawkins for that matter.

Yeah. And you could say that the past couple of years, our secondary has sucked ass.

Now, maybe it sucks Fred's ass.

    Yep.

    >>He's gone now so we can harp on that time he did _____ that obviously cost us everything this franchise stood for. he sucks and I hope he dies tomorrow.

Sound good? or did I go too Red Sox on him?

And when the fuck do we find out about our Samoan TE?

Sure you can draw your own conclusions. But the problem there is that you are not privy to the planning conversations and do not really know the rationale behind the decisions. My guess - and that is all any of us here are making (some more informed than others) - is that they felt like Grant was not going to be the long term solution - so they cut bait now.

I would prefer to have a front office that determined what they think a player is worth and pretty much stick to it - even if it means letting that player walk - than a front office that decides that they want a player and get into bidding wars because of it.

    Awsome. Exactly.
Friday-ish. I think they have a week to match the offer. Not sure. That is the time period on Transition players, so I am just assuming the same for RFA's.
